New Discussion Site: RWEK Discussion
Hi, everyone!
I’ve been thinking long and hard for the past few weeks about the blogs I run and how they’re organized. For a while now, I’ve been wanting to fully transition this site into a place just for reviews and editorial entries, but I don’t want to deprive all of you who have been such responsible and respectful commenters at this site for the past few months.
So … after quite a bit of consideration, I’ve opened a new satellite RWEK location for general royal discussion. This will allow the royal conversation at the blog to be directed toward any (respectful) topics you’d like, and it will be organized so that you’ll have a new post to comment on each week (helping to cut down on the overwhelming scrolling on entries). You’ll also be able to use avatars, and you’ll be able to log in with either an existing (or new) Google account or with an Open ID account.
In the meantime, I’ll be posting occasional essays and reviews here — and you’re more than welcome to comment on those if you’d like. But the everyday discussion would move to the other site. The discussion site will be linked from this page as well.
Thoughts? I’m hoping this solution will help to reorganize my resources a bit without making you all feel like you’ve been kicked out, which is not my intent! I’ve enjoyed having you here, and I want to be able to continue to provide you with a platform for your royal discussion. I’m happy to answer any questions you might have in this post, and I’d love to hear feedback from all of you on this proposition.
Okay, I’m having problems posting on the new site, Ella. Can we still use WordPress or do I have to have a google or openID account?
Sure, Rman, let me see if I can help. You can’t use the account you registered for this specific blog, even though it’s run on WordPress software, on the new blog. If you have a WordPress.com account, you can use that through Open ID. Probably a Google account would be the easiest way — if you use any of Google’s services, like Gmail, Blogger, or YouTube, you can use that account at the new blog.

bluefire, discussion has moved to the new site. You should use your Google ID to comment there. Let me know if you have specific questions that I can help with.

I still cant post on the new website that was organized. but i am already a member of the site. Ive been trying to place comments but it goes back to sign in in google. what should i do?

AJ, your posts are all there. After a post on the new site reaches 200 comments, it creates a new comment page. You can navigate the pages by using the Newer/Older links on the post.
Sorry to bother anyone . I feel so technologically inadequate. I signed in and got my blog activated. I am having trouble logging in. where do you log in on the new page.

I’m not able to post anything on the new site – haven’t been for several days. I noticed the posts stopped on the 26th – is anyone else having this problem?
I’m too having this problem, AJ. It’s telling me that I have to wait for Ella’s approval.
Her power may have been knocked out by the storm.
I have a hard time getting onto the discussion site which is why I don’t post. Depending on where Ella lives power has been knocked out for a while. My sister lost power on Saturday. A power pole was split and it may be as much as two weeks before she gets it back. I am hoping that everyone gets power soon. Also, some cable companies may have lost connections to the internet. I look forward to reading everyone’s post when things get back up and running.
For some reason I can’t post under the new column on the new site. My posts just disappears. Ella can you help me with this?
Rman, I’m not sure — I don’t see any comments in the moderation/spam queues that I can approve. I just test-posted a comment, and it’s working.
Yeah, I tried posting several times but my post just disappear and I’m not even taken to the ‘word verification’ preview before it post. I even tried posting on another computer but nothing happens. It’s rather strange because I was posting just fine on the previous column.
Kate is looking good. I’m speculating that she is pregnant.
